AssetMap is an innovative, field data capture tool designed to locate, identify and assess assets and defects in a mobile GIS format.

AssetMap seamlessly provides the integration of base map layers, GPS and other hardware including digital cameras. The GIS view in AssetMap allows the GPS location to be displayed against the base maps for excellent location cross-reference.

Suitable digital base maps include cadastral layers, road centrelines and digital orthophotos. The use of aerial photos in the field provides an easy, quick method of plotting features at the correct location.

AssetMap contains a diverse set of layers for different feature types. It includes the following specialist layers.

Defects - includes footpath, pavement, kerb & channel defects

Signs – includes standard and non standard signs
Arboriculture – detailed tree attribution including genus & species
Drainage – includes full connectivity of drainage networks

Basic layers include:

Street Furniture, Traffic Control, Miscellaneous Assets
Trees & Gardens, Reserve Assets, Reserves
Services, Sports Grounds & Playgrounds, Fences

Features can be plotted as points, polylines and polygons. Descriptive, configurable icons and line styles graphically represent the features.

The digital attribution forms can be configured to allow varying levels of attribution and specific pick list selections based on the type of feature plotted. The outcome from the field is GIS ready layers with all required attributes.

AssetMap includes a configurable GPS module and a selection of on-screen measuring tools to allow rapid and accurate data capture.
